Desira have lent the SNT a yellow Panda 4x4 that has been out visiting schools and other places within the community and is being used every day by the team members raising awareness of car crime, parking issues and illegal motorcycle riding.
At the official launch last week of the Coastal District Safer Neighbourhoods at Ufford Park attended by many officials and representatives of local businesses involved in this scheme special mention was given to the SNT at Kesgrave who have achieved an astonishing 25% reduction in crime a figure far beyond the set target of 3%. This shows that initiatives like this scheme where people from different sectors of business and local government work together to achieve a common goal can be extremely successful.
“We depend heavily on local support and believe that everyone part of a community should play their part in keeping it a safe and secure place to live” says Sergeant Mick Richardson who is in charge at the Kesgrave SNT unit ”We are grateful for the support that we have received from Desira Fiat and it has proved more than handy to have a vehicle that is able to go off road. Our usual police cars struggle but the 4x4 Panda holds its own on rough terrain and enables us to get close to the offending motorcycles”.
Justin Mills, Sales Manager at the Ipswich Desira Branch, is pleased with the yellow Panda’s performance and the association with the SNT initiative, “If everyone works together it will result in a better environment for us all, Desira are very happy to support this initiative and to help promote safer motoring as well off course”.
