The Murano features innovative scratch Guard Paint, which combines a special highly elastic resin with a conventional clearcoat to increase the paint’s flexibility and to provide protection to the inner paint layers. The highly elastic resin self-repairs fine scratches caused by automatic car washes, off-road driving and fingernails returning your Murano to its original glory within one week. The effectiveness of scratch Guard Paints lasts for three years and the amount of time taken for the paint to repair varies on the temperature of the outside air and the depth of the scratch. The paint is not able to self-repair deep scratches which penetrate through to the base coats.
