The Turismo is a spacious and versatile seven-seater MPV. Offering reliable, dependable motoring in a generously-proportioned package with classic lines, it comes with lots of luxurious premium features to keep even the most demanding family happy.
The Turismo’s designers have maximised interior space by giving the car an upright silhouette. Opt for the mid-range EX or top-line ELX trim to get alloy wheels, while all Turismos come with roof rails should you need to attach a roof box or carry large items of sports equipment. Metallic paint and side steps are among the optional extras that can be specified to give the Turismo even more driveway appeal.
Automatic air conditioning, two 12V power outlets and lots of storage cubbies will keep your passengers cool, their phones charged and their personal effects hidden.
The Turismo's huge interior space is enormously flexible. It’s easy to switch between a seven-seat grand tourer and a two-seater house-mover, and there are a huge number of permutations on how to arrange things.
Four passengers will enjoy individual armrests and plentiful shoulder room in the ‘captain’s armchairs’ that feature in the front and middle rows, while providing convenient walk-through access to the third row. The seats in the second and third row slide fore and aft, too, so everybody can enjoy the legroom they want without any compromise on luggage capacity.
Opt for EX or ELX trim and you’ll also enjoy luxurious leather upholstery.
SsangYong fits every new Turismo with its latest Euro 6-compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine. This develops a muscular 175bhp and 400Nm of torque from just 1,400rpm, while returning almost 40mpg on the combined cycle.
Choose a six-speed manual gearbox or a slick-shifting seven-speed E-Tronic automatic developed by Mercedes-Benz. The automatic transmission comes as standard on the ELX trim, where it comes mated to a selectable 4x4 system for surefooted traction, whatever the job and whatever the weather.
Cruise control is standard on Turismos fitted with automatic transmission, making motorway journeys even more comfortable. Rear parking sensors are optional on the SE trim and standard on the rest of the range, taking the guesswork out of parking the Turismo in some of the UK’s more compact parking spaces.
Your Turismo comes with a six-speaker CD/RDS radio with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, helping you to create the perfect soundtrack. If you wish to upgrade, an upscale Kenwood system with a touch-sensitive screen, DVD player, DAB digital radio and satellite navigation is an option.
You also have the peace of mind of driver and passenger front airbags, side front airbags and an Electronic Stability Programme.
The Turismo MPV is now on display at our new Desira SsangYong showroom in Norwich.
