JAECOO has introduced a dedicated EV Tax Rebate on the new all-electric JAECOO E5, giving drivers the equivalent of 20,000 miles at 3p per mile.
This initiative has been launched following the UK Budget announcement that from 2028–2029, pure electric vehicle drivers will be taxed 3p per mile. In response, OMODA&JAECOO UK is offering a manufacturer-funded saving on qualifying JAECOO E5 models purchased through its national retailer network using approved finance products.
Even though this new EV tax is still three years away, customers can benefit from the saving immediately when purchasing a JAECOO E5 with an approved 48-month finance agreement. The rebate is designed to keep its value over the full four-year term, effectively pre-covering a portion of the future pay-per-mile tax during the life of the agreement.
This saving helps drivers enjoy lower running costs and reduced long-term ownership expenditure at a time when electric vehicles are playing an increasingly important role in the UK’s transport and decarbonisation strategy.
Gary Lan, CEO of OMODA&JAECOO UK, said:
“Today’s Budget introduces a new 3p-per-mile EV tax from 2028–2029, and we want to make the transition to electric driving as smooth as possible for our customers immediately – not three or four years from now. Our EV Tax Rebate effectively covers the first few years of this new tax, giving drivers the equivalent of thousands of miles of zero-cost motoring. The JAECOO E5 represents the forefront of electric mobility, and this initiative reflects our commitment to making clean, efficient, and intelligent transportation more accessible to UK drivers from day one.”
With the average EV covering 8,740 miles per year, this rebate aims to cover two to three years of the future tax burden.
