The Peugeot 208 has more compact body and a more spacious interior – magic! Even though the car is 7cm shorter than the 207, rear-seat passengers have a full 5cm more space. The boot is bigger too. And, this ingenious car weight 110kg less, and is significantly more efficient thanks to its aerodynamic profiling.
The Peugeot 208 weighs up to a massive 173kg less than an equivalent 207 with an engine of similar power. The overall weight of the 208 starts from only 975kg. This low weight, combined with the renowned chassis expertise means that, like any Peugeot, it handles superbly.
The exterior is sculpted to give the car a dynamic look, even when it’s sitting on your drive. The floating front grille, signature LED lighting and boomerang-shaped rear lights have been designed to work together to give the 208 an unmistakable presence.
When you’re using a car every day, it’s the details that matter. So the build of the 208 is focused on “precision, technology and refinement.”
The driver’s whole environment has been re-engineered to make life behind the wheel more intuitive and make convenient than ever before.
With a smaller steering wheel, eye level instrument panel and large touch screen making life easy for the drive. And the passengers? They benefit from a cool but cosy interior that’s as practical as it is stylish.
A smaller steering wheel will let you respond to whatever is happening on the road in a flash and with an eye level instrument panel, there’s no need to look away from the traffic when you’re on the road. These are just a couple of touches designed to make driving the 208 more ergonomic and intuitive than any Peugeot before it.
Seats that hug your body, ambient lighting that makes you feel at home and air conditioning to keep the temperature just right, making you feel at home the moment you step inside.
When you drive a 208, you might notice an extraordinary feeling of safety. This might come from the superb road-holding. It might be the protective frame or the multi-feature ESP braking system. Or even the free Peugeot Connect for roadside assistance, or the Peugeot Connect SOS* which tracks your car so you can be easily found if you have an accident.
Peugeot set out to build a car that had reduced environmental impact at the heart of its design. Cutting Co2 output was paramount. That meant advances in engineering, aerodynamics and extra touches like ultra-low resistance tyres.
Combined with the efficiency of our HDi FAP diesel engines and VTi petrol engines, it’s one of Peugeot's greenest cars ever.
